Todd, I'm down for that. I might see if my daughter wants to tag along, currently rounding up parts for her rig.

i actually traded it for a short course truck ....but im saving money to buy either an xr10 or scx10 "thumbsup".....the only reason why i got rid of it is that i was tired of replacing broken axles

Devil Inc 06-27-2012 06:09 PM

Re: Northwest area

I'd stay away from an XR10, I feel it would take way too much $$$ to get it where I wanted it to be. Just my opinion though. "thumbsup"

turbomini 06-28-2012 12:33 AM

Re: Northwest area

i like my venom creeper i have the axle's are known to brake but they are good if you dont bind while rolling at speed, if you drive smart your safe,

i ordered the servo so i should be good for the next time we get togather, the deal was we get that and she comes with me on the next run, but i will be bringing water with, :p

Devil Inc 06-28-2012 12:45 AM

Re: Northwest area

Yeah, I'm planning on packing a cooler too, especially in my 8 year old comes with. Awesome on getting that servo ordered. I need to get some batteries ordered, but don't think I will be able to in time.

I broke a few axles in mine too, I made some heavy duty straight shafts for the rear, I've never broken a front.

I would go with a SCX10 if you plan on doing mostly trail running. Great truck even stock.

Come on over on the 8th anyway, I always have some extra trucks with me."thumbsup"

The time sounds good to me. If my daughter and I come, along hopefully with the neighbor guy, I'll try to drive my mini-van. If that's the case, I'll be bringing my big cooler packed with ice and water and things. There are BBQ grills there at the parking area, we could all bring a dish or something.

Re: Northwest area

It looks like it'll be my neighbor guy and I heading up. I'm thinking 10 would be a good time to meet. We can trail around and take a break for lunch, then hit some more trails if everyone is feeling up to it. I know I'll be bringing my SCX10, the neighbor is probably gonna be bringing his Wraith and Ridgecrest.

Oh yeah, I'll make sure I'm on time this time. "thumbsup"

Devil Inc 07-05-2012 11:43 AM

Re: Northwest area

headshok88, how's the park looking up there?

I think we should start a quick list of things for lunch???

There is a good chance, I'll be bringing my minivan. I will have my cooler, so I'll be bringing ICE, bottled water, and I can grab a bag of charcoal from the store. Everyone else feel free to post up what you can bring and we'll fill in if anything is needed. "thumbsup"

Re: Northwest area

I didn't get any pics, I did get a video of jaxandjokers Ridgecrest in a culvert pipe. I really need to remember to get pictures...and to think I almost grabbed the wife's point & shoot this morning.

It was tons of fun and I'm sure it'll only get better. The family and I strolled around the hometown area looking for anything, didn't find anything :(

Re: Northwest area

So jaxandjokers is my neighbor, he got word of this place about 20 minutes from our houses. Well I had a chance to check it out today, so the oldest daughter and I went with rig in hand. I did remember to bust out the camera. LOL While this place is kinda small in size, I'd estimate a tad smaller than Teddy Bear Park. However, what it lacks in total size, I feel it more than makes up for it in terrain.

On to the pics...

My rig happened to survive a wicked tumble down this hill to the muddy creekbed at the bottom. No damage and I was able to drive it back out.
