Central Ohio Crawlers Summer/Fall 2013 Point Series

Grab your trucks its time for a new point series!!!








This will be the official thread for our Summer/Fall point series. Which will run June through September.

We will be adding a fee for the 2.2s class this time around.

All are invited, There will be 7 events w/two throw aways. This means we will take the best 5 events and that will be your final series score. We will continue with the weekend / AM schedule as done in the past, holding each event on Sundays.


For this series:
-We will be using USRCCA national rules for these events.

-There will be a $7 entry fee per event, $5 for club members. (any indoor comp will require an additional $15 or $10 for members to the Boulder House @ Sparks Park for the use of the facilities).

- 2.2s will have an entry fee of $2 for this series.


-We will be comping at 10am on Sundays (pro class first)


-We will be using the current national rules for progress (-2 per gate, Not Progressive Scoring). We will NOT be using the 20pt and carry rule option in this series..

There will be two spotters and one judge per driver per course. We need spotters and judges to be proactive and cognizant of the driver and course they are judging. Please pay attention and position yourself in a way you can effectively see all obstacles/gate.

These events are meant to be fun and we want to keep it that way, but we also need to make sure everyone is getting the same fair judging as everyone else.

The schedule is as follows:

06/30/13 - Emerald Pkwy, Dublin
07/14/13 - Oakes Quarry Park in Fairborn
07/28/13 - "MLK" Gordon Park in Cleveland
08/11/13 - Matt's home course
08/25/13 - Academy Park in Columbus
09/15/13 - Andy's home course
09/29/13 - Josh's home course

Again, non-COC members and all skill levels are welcome and encouraged to attend. We have a wide range of knowledge and are always willing and eager to help a newbie out with rig setup or driving tips. Hope to see you soon!!!

So what are we thinking with the weather....looks iffy at best on the lake tomorrow...do we still go rain or shine or do we want to move it down here somewhere??

With as much as the forecast changes this time of year a decision like that might be better made about 7:00pm. I sure don't want to go that far just for breakfast and don't want to miss an opportunity to crawl there. Tough to call this early.

I wouldn't mind moving it this time and going to MLK on the second stop. Like Josh said it's too far for just breakfast and it's no fun crawling in the rain.

I just scrolled through all of our comp locations from Cleveland to fairborne on weatherbug there is a 50%-70% chance of t-storms wherever we crawl unless you guys want to do emerald or EN we will most likely be dealing with rain

Not saying we should go to either place. I'd rather be somewhere fun outside in the rain just my opinion...
