Crawlers in Central Oregon?

Just wondering if there is anyone here in central oregon. I live in Bend and was looking to see if I could get a few people together for a session.
If you are, post up and lets see what we can get going. I know of a few great places, like my front yard with a 20x20x4' tall rock outcrop.........

I'm in Klamath and next term I might be able to get out of town for a day to play with the little trucks 8)

At some point when the weather settles we all need to get together and crawl. I know of a good spot at Sawyer park that has some decent lines. It also has some good trail running to be had."thumbsup"

Do you guys happen to know the amount of traffic the groundhog quarry gets on average during the weekend? I went out there with some local guys here to watch them do some 1:1 crawlin and there are lots of good lines there, but if its packed every weekend, then it might not be a good idea.

Never heard of it. Where is it?
There are tons of good places out there, china hat rd, meadow camp park, shevlin park, absolutely tons of places up skyline rd, hell i got a good rock outcrop in the front yard 5' tall by 20 feet around. I have a dual sport bike so I get to scope a lot of cool places around here.

It's down off of 20 on the way to Burns. You come down a pretty good hill, then take the second right. Here's some directions-

Here's some pictures of it, and I have a few more that show the area a bit better I think.

Looks like a neat place, might not be so hot for rc as Im sure its pretty busy in there. I know a few good places off china hat rd. I JUST WANT THE DAM SNOW TO GO AWAY! Its supposed to be crappy all week to. I have almost a foot here.
The guy at D's hobby has been talkin bout puttin an indoor comp course in the store, but I aint seen nothing yet........

OIT_TLT 02-01-2008 12:23 PM

I talked with one of the deschutes 4x4 guys and he said that we shouldn't have a problem with space. I guess a couple of them have crawlers as well 8)

Whats it like for snow in Redmond?
We got a buttload here in Bend, I need to get out and try this thing out. Couch crawlin only goes so far! Supposed to warm up a bit here this weekend so Im hoping to get some real crawling in. Im wondering if we could hit some of the caves in Redmond, no snow in them........

i helped desin and build the ground hog pit. i have taken my super class crawler there and had a great time. i just bought at lcc so i don t know how well a 2.2 will do. if anyone wants to head out that way i am game. the snow should not be a problem.

bend area

if you head out hwy 20 east at about mile marker 17 on the left hand side of the road there is a area that looks very good. there is also the old hwy 20 road at the foot of horse ridge.
