We, ORCRC, have hit up The Dalles area a few times in the past, out by Taylor Lake. It's been a couple years since we've had a gtg or comp out there though.

| ![]() I'm in Troutdale. Taylor Lake is in my top 5 favorite places to take the scalers. I really enjoy the type of rock it has. Last comp we had there was September 2010 I think. It's a longer drive for most in the club since most ORCRC members are on the Westside of Portland. |

So far, crawled on rocks on S bank of road by the T (east) before Taylor lake, at Taylor lake, and behind the Ted walker memorial pool (also is behind Safeway). There are more good rocks across from the pool, but have to cross the railroad tracks to get there. As I recall there are some good rocks on the wash side of the river bank also... On the way to the small sand dunes & beach there, basically from the bridge all the way down to this beach there are intermittent good spots to crawl. Taylor lake is quit a treasure and would probably take 40+ 850 mah packs to cover explore everything thoroughly.
