| ORCRC 11/26/04... Rocks, Mud & H20 = Fun. Many pics!
4 of us got together at Wallace Marine Park in Salem this afternoon for some TLT action. We had my FJ40, Seans Rubicon frame-railed TLT and Rock Hummer TLT, and Dan's new, prototype rock buggy TLT. The FJ40 driving my Haflinger. (ready for www.Haz-fest.com!) Dan's super-secret TLT crawler. It's got a kydex chassis, layed-down stampede tranny, 4 cell battery to offset the motor's weight, maxx-a-arm 3-link suspension with 2 shocks, 1 at each end. This thing went everywhere the other trucks went, and it had an open front diff!! Sean's H2SUT TLT crawler. It uses the prototype RC Rockgear TLT chassis, and has an unreal center of gravity. Conquered everything, and got 2 HOURS OF RUNTIME! 8O Dan's TLT again, the CG KING! Those losi 2.2's have excellent grip. Sean's Rubicon TLT. AWESOME setup. Lay-down stampede tranny and batteries over the front axle make it scoot right up serious climbs. Big Mashers provide excellent ground clearance. The group Dan's "Ugly Buggly" cooling off. On the rocks My shelf-queen. ;) There was some serious mud down by the river. Dan and I couldnt resist playing in the ruts of the full-sized vehicles. Me winching out THAT is some gooey crape! Dan getting winched out of a high-center. Look at that mud!!! "help?" Heading into the river to clean off! Notice the spur gear is 1/3 under water. The bottom of the receiver is just touching the liquid-electronics-death. We like to live dangerously. ;) enjoy! ryan |

The Red truck has Losi 2.2 smashers. Soft compound. Small diameter, but very sticky and good tread.

Brett is fine as far as I know! We are going to haz-fest tomorrow. RSI: Nope. I'm building a new TLT chassis because the other guys' trucks perform better than mine. I need a lower CG! Hopefully something with a lya-down stampede tranny and battery pack up in front. Ryan |

I love the triangulated maxx arm rig. What a great idea. There's a 1:1 rig out here in Cali that uses a push/pull air bag setup. It's really hard to understand how it works even after seeing it in action. But man what a rig. The red dovetailed body's susp seems similar. Good work guys.

Rons around somewhere! I think it's just a scheduling thing. I'm sure he'll make it out one of these cold winter days. Ryan |

Yup, all trucks running stampede trannies. No gear reductions. I trucks this small and light you dont need them. The low-geared stampede tranny with any motor really will be a decent crawler. no gear reduction means you'll have better pep, which is muy importante. Seans TLT is light weight, with 4 GP 3300 cells and the integy motor. a good setup for run time. Ryan |

Y'all are beginning to upset me. These little trucks are just about the coolest thing I've seen around this place, so I went ahead and started buying stuff to build one! I need another toy like a hole in my head. I bought a complete Bruiser frame and suspension; I'm ordering one of those $100 TLTs today or tomorrow. I'd like to talk with the guy who has the Jeep bodied truck on the Bruiser frame if you're reading this. Thanx! |

Nice TLTs. Will Rc Rock Gear be selling TLT parts soon. I'd be interested the the aluminum peices that most of the trucks pictured have over their servos.

We have quite a few details to still work out with the TLT chassis. Just keep waiting My best guess is that it'll be early(Jan) 2005 before they'll roll out the door. | |
