I'm on the Oregon Coast at the RV Golf Resort (Yea life is good!). They have some fun rock gardens strewn around that my wife and i crawl on with our MRCs ... Someone mentioned Lebanon... My wife an i regularly visit the Quartzville Mining District east of Lebanon/Sweet Home. There are miles of really great rocks to crawl on the river bank. |

Is ORCRC still an active organization? If so, any events coming up in the Portland area soon? Thanks |

Hello Boys: Just bought a SCX 10 Honcho. I'm out in Forest Grove, looking to connect with other scale crawlers and seek out good locations in our area. Looked at the Jenkins Estate in Beaverton, fairly well groomed gardens..... I don't think they'd be too amenable to crawlers on their property LOL Look to this map for park areas as possible crawl spots http://www.thprd.org/pdfs/document133.pdf One good trail with alot of rock is in Macleay park - trailhead at the Culd De Sac end of NW Upshur st in PDX here https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&i...&ved=0CK4BELYD |

Macleay Park - Trailhead at the end of NW Upshur in NW Portland is a great place to Creek Crawl. Right now the water level is low, affording 2 - 8 inch depths and lots of exposed rock, bank and logs to crawl on. I was there last weekend Aug 19th and took some video of my Honcho creek crawling - Good Times !

| Re: Oregon, the places to crawl and shop! It is looking like the Waterloo @ the headgate is reffering to the fish ladder on the Santiam river (along river road east of Lebanon) I am talikng about Waterloo County Park. It is on the Santiam river as well just a few miles east of "the headgate." I found good rocks by the river. Good dirt trails for hill climbs & trailing. There are BBq's for day use as well as lots of parking. The fish ladder (headgate)is a bit more like parking on the side of the road with little else for hospitality. Anyone going to the headwaters soon? I am curious exacty where it is. |

If you're looking for a place to shop in Central Oregon, be sure to check out Sumpter Valley Depot in Bend. Nick is a super nice guy who really loves the crawler/scaler scene. He has tons of Axial parts and a nice little indoor crawling spot! Sumpter Valley Depot - trains-boats-planes-RC cars-trucks If you're looking to go for a trail run with some folks, there is usually someone headed out to Sawyer Park every weekend. We also have free scale comps once a month! Central Oregon Radio Control Rock Crawlers has a Facebook group for sharing pics and organizing get togethers and comps. Look us up! https://www.facebook.com/groups/CORCRC/ |
