| Northern England Crawl Spot
Had a run out today to check over a new location. Staithes on the North Yorkshire coast, just north of Whitby. There's two breakwaters, and to the south the skeers look good. I think the main breakwater rocks are too big for TLT trucks, unless there was some carefull route choices. Some of the gaps are rather large and you could possibly loose a Clod sized truck. If you were to run on the main skeers there could be some good ground for the scale trucks, even some for the Clod sized. Anyway a few pictures to get some idea. If anyone wants to meet up then end a PM or post on here and we can get something arranged. Last edited by wallaz; 12-10-2006 at 11:19 AM. |

Nice one James, look forward to it. The only problem with this site is that the village, as with most along this coast, is at the bottom of a rather steep hill. There's no parking in the village either, though there is a large car park at the top. Needless to say it's not really fat man friendly. Nearly had a heart attack by the time I got to the top. |

You got an awesome spot right there, coastal defences are by far the best crawl spots. 186 miles is a bit much for me, though.

| Crawling At The Sea Side!!
I,m planning on taking our caravan to whitby next year for a week, maybe we could meet? or if you organise some thing earlier I could come for the day(@2.5 hours to whitby from here) We had a week in scarborough in august and my tlt was in the car all week,I had a little play on the rocks at north beach but gave up cos the gaps in the rocks would swallow a tlt up for ever!! lets try to organise some thing for the new year? JOHN.

lol. Yeah well i live about Twenty minutes from scarborough. I live in a village called Hunmanby. Near Filey. Me and my Dad go to a place called Filey Brigg it is about a 5 minute walk from where we park the car. But we have just bought like a pull along trailer because it is a long walk from the car park. And starts to hurt your arms if you are carrying your rig. |
