| "Body work" for the Gremlin King...
Just a couple replacement panels... A J.C. Whitney Fender and a junkyard hood... hood still has a couple dents in it but the old one had holes... (actually the putty shrunk on me BAD after I sprayed it... oops... I'll fix those later) Most of the paint is all sun-burnt off the new hood... Oh, and I finally started hammering all the wrinkles out of the left rear quarter panel... gonna take a gallon of bondo to fill it, though... Now I just gotta start filling the Galaxy of holes in the roof... Lemme know whatcha think... I'm also planning on "replacing" the passenger door with a blue one with a white Gremlin "X" stripe... |

Awesome. The Gremlin X door would be badass. It's a "Fresh Cherries" from Wal-Mart correct? I have a 1:18 Pinto that I'd like to made brushless. Totally off topic, have you read the new Hot Rod? Apparently AMC is coming back..? |

I have always thought those cars were pretty B.A. good work on the body, and the paint on the hood looks pretty dang good! I can't wait to see it all done... |

that is one sweet body. I was just talking with my co-works about that car. We said when the car first came out we thought it was an ugly car, and who you buy such a thing. But how times have changed, we all agreed that if he had Millions of dollars to spend we would add a Gremlin in our collection. Nice find.

Thanks for the comments guy's! funny how everyone thought they were hideous back then, but just look at what some people are driving nowadays (YUCK! :-P) Apparently rust never sleeps... this popped up on the other fender overnight... More work to do... |

Thanks guys! The body is off a Wal-mart R/C made by Fresh Cherries. They're out of production now (but if anyone sees one somewhere let me know I want another!) I really dig it. I just wanted something different from the normal Jeep/Bronco/Gwagon/FJ/Yota.... Plus it was on clearance and looked like it'd fit. I built it to look like something you might see on "Extreme 4x4" or in one of the major magazines. And it's not just a crawler. I built this thing to be an insane trail runner/mud runner/crawler/snowmobile... Here's the build thread for more info: Project Gremlin King It started life as a stock Wk and slowly morphed into the monster you see before you. She's been run hard and most of the mechanical stuff is finished so I figured starting on the bodywork was in order... But like my 1:1 projects, I'm having too much fun beating on it so it'll probably be sometime far from now when it actually sees a real paint job. |

I had a '72 Hornet and it rusted in the same spot. That was my first car. Oh the memories |
