| Hardbody bedliner
So I have sucessfully bobbed and reverse body dropped my Hilux bed after seeing the ShortLux in the scale section. (I don't like long beds) Only thing is I cant find any decent looking bedliner to put in it. I bought some canned crap from Schmucks Auto, but It's got no stinking texture. Is there any DIY bedliner with texture similar to Rhino Line or Line-X? If not, I was thinkin the canopy shop dudes in town are pretty cool, so I'll see if I can have them spray some on mine next time they do a 1:1 |

I used rubberized undercoating from discount auto. But you need to take the spray nozzle off of A spray paint can & use it instead of the one that the undercoating comes with.It will come out finer to look more like scale spray in beadliner . I hope this helps you |

My dad wanted to add a rough texture to the pool deck so no one would slip so he added sand to the paint and he rolled it on. It held up 2 summers so far. Don't know if you want to try this on your bed or not but its a suggestion.

use some wrinkle paint and let it dry in the cool air not in the sun or anything.

What about the Herculiner roll on bead liner? I realize it's expensive in the gallon size, but I think it can be bought in quart or pint sizes. Is the texture of the roll on bed liner to large to be scale? http://www.acehardware.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1383216 Another suggestion would be gravel guard. It is sold in body and paint supply stores. Every manufacturer has some, like PPG, Dupont, etc. They use it to spray rocker panels on cars (usually higher end cars and restorations) to help protect them from rock chips. It just mixes into the paint color you already have. Once dry it has a light texture. It holds up really. |

Supra used http://www.duplicolor.com/products/truckbed.html on both http://www.rcpics.net/view_single.php?medid=87840. It turned out like http://www.rcpics.net/view_single.php?medid=87518 and http://www.rcpics.net/view_single.php?medid=84370. Needless to say, Supra is very happy with Duplicolor.

I've often wondered how Plasti-Dip with sand mixed in would work...

I used rattle can spatter paint, used in car trunks. It wasn't black but after it was dry I just hit it with some flat black.

Fusion has a great textured paint just for platic, would make a great bed liner. Painted my old ugh bug body with it and tinted the windows. Wicked look. JC |

I would recommend using some spray on Plasti-dip. Just after applying the second coat, sprinkle #60 grit silica sand over the newly applied coat. Then cover with 2-3 more coats. It's a little time consuming but the outcome is the most realistic I've ever seen.
