Has anyone tried printing a design on adhesive 8.5x11 paper, then uctting out the deisgn and adhering it to the body to mask? Just wondering if this would work well?

As long as the adhesive is low tack so it peels off cleanly I can't see any reason why you shouldn't be able to use it.

Isn't that the same as self-adhesive label stock and if it is then the adhesive is too sticky to peel off cleanly.

Why don't you try it and then let us know if it works for you.

I have used low tack shelving paper and it still left a little residue. I used some denatured alcohol to remove it, just be careful at the paint lines.

Go to your local hobby shop and buy some......Ummm :-? can't think of it. But it's made for this purpose by Badger. It's clear plastic with a tacky backing. draw your design cut it out and airbrush away.

The best stuff i found for 8.5 X 11 paper is sign making paper by Avery. It will not leave a residue when you peel it. I do recommend liquid mask over anything else though. Sticker paper will ruin a paint job, it sticks way too much and then leaves a horrible residue. Trust me, I am speaking from experience, lol.

go to a auto paint supply place and look for vinyl paint mask. they should have a whole line of them. personally i buy the rolls of 6 inch 50 ft. usually costs me about 12 dollars but it less expensive than the hobby shop stuff which costs like 2.99 for a piece thats 8 1/2 X 11 inches.

the adhesive used on sticker paper is too strong to use as a mask. trust me, i personally use sticker paper for sticker slapping
