Default Tire tread paint masks?

Ok I have a new body on the way & am using the gatecrasher so with the surface area on the roof I wanted to do something different but I am not able to find a mask or transfer sheet with tire treads.

I want to have a few diff patterns crisscrossing eachother. Like Krawler, Bogger & TSL patterns.

Please let me know if you have any ideas?

Well my idea was 20 hours with an x-acto and tape but I like the painted tire idea better. Altho you may get more satisfaction from the 20 hours....

That was the first thing I thought of & tried it inside an old body........... it didn't workout so well because of the contours.

This is what I was thinking of:

& after looking at it like this I think that it would be more than 20+ hours! I may be my sanity as well!

well, I figured pressing the tire into the contours would make it look like it had been driven on, but for using it as a patttern, it looks like a lot of exacto work unless you know someone with a vinyl graphics cutter to make a mask for you

if nothing else, you could print a pattern out, tape it to a roll of masking tape with scotch tape, cut out all the detail, then use the masking tape as a stencil?

found a couple of source pics
