Default "mini" rhinoliner

i'm thinking about spraying a thick layer of black, sprinkling sand all over it, then spraying more black over that. are there any better methods of getting a rhinolined look? i've thought about using spray adhesive layer for the first layer but im not sure how the paint will work on top of it

Try Rustolium textured spray paint.
this is the black, looks more grey. on other rigs I went over it with flat black afterward.

close up shot showing the fine texture. very scale.

overall

I don't recomend undercoating as it is tar based and will make a mess out of your bed. You can go to Wal-Mart, in the automotive section they have a rattle can spray in bedliner that works well. I don't remember the name brand.

Plasti-Kote has black and white spray can truck bed liner. Go to any auto parts store to find it.

However, as far as scale appearances go; I like the results of the above Toyota much better. I would recommend that first.

i sprayed the whole body with red spraycan paint i think it was krylon.(not fusion) then did the bed with the liner. took a couple coats on the liner.

its a tamiya highlift toyota hilux
theres no weight difference to speak of. its just for looks.

The Wal-Mart spray liner that keeps getting mentioned is probably Dupli-Color, it works good but make sure you use their adheasion promoter first if you're spraying it on lexan.

Just pick up some black rubberized paint. It will work great.
