Default My First Lexan Painting

Hi,

today i finished my first ever lexan painting. Used my Iwata HP-CS and Pactra Metallic Black and Red. Never painted such a big surface and had no wish to training on some plastic bottles.

Protective mask is still there. Will do more photos without, if you wish.

just one question, i had a lot of swab/cotton-wool when i painted the inside. What is the cause? Too much pressure or?

I'm no paint expert but my guess would be Moisture.

Thank you
i have Iwata-Medea Pistol-Grip Filter and compressor with big tank, so it is not enough for this volume and pressure

will buy some bigger for the tank

the problem is in your paint, i bet your using pactra acrylics, basically those bottles sit around for so long already ativated by the air thats in them, the paint is literally drying as it comes out the tip. you can thin it down but your best bet is just to buy new shit i had it happen as well.... i high psi may add to it, so lowering might help but i cant say... b/c rasing the psi even more may fix it, but the paint is still screwed up

Better than I did on my first try

I like the mesh grid effect. What did you use...drywall repair tape?

Yeah for a first paint job that thing looks way good. I think I went a few bodies before I got a good looking one.

Thank you guys for kind words. Never thought i can do something that looks nice for rcc masters :(

extreme, thank you.. maybe you are right, but how can i be sure the 'new' bottle from the e-store or lhs is also new and not activated :( Those came from amain.

Offroader5, this technique was published here somewhere. I saw it once and remembered when i started painting. I used pieces of plastic mesh (we use it windows here, to protect our houses from mosquitoes). Stick it on the lexan, and paint over... it was not laying close to the body in all places, and that is why the final pattern is 'chaotic' and not exact (in final i like it better than it should be). Next time i'll try to stick it to lexan somehow, but don't know how. Will try to spray 3M adhesive over that mesh so it would be stickable (and not permanently stickable). Or will try this technique with lady's opaque pantyhose (opaque has more denier, thicker yarn) for finer pattern, but again.. how to stick them to the surface.

Ahh, yes...window screen. I agree, I think it looks better like it is with a sort of fade effect to it instead of perfectly uniform.
