|  crowd pleazer w/ WOOLY BOOGERS
hung out at the hobby shop yesterday afternoon. me and the owner got to talking about painting. went though his portfolio (he does custom work on 1:1 show cars, on the side) and noticed a really unique pattern which ive never seen before. i asked him about it and all he said was "ohh yeah ! wooly boogers ! mix the 70's an airbrush and some hash and that's what i ended up with." he then took me into his workshop and showed me how to do the effect. friends were out of town for the weekend so i decided to pick up a case of new castle and paint another body. i now present my "wooly boogered" crowd pleazer       still gotta take some pics of it mounted. and some well placed decals should cover up some of the spots where the paint bled Last edited by NeXt559; 09-06-2009 at 01:09 AM. |

| Seen that effect before ...
Sea anomies, those things you find in rock pools that suck your finger, lol. Had it happen to me quite a few times when I did a custom airbrushing course. Never thought of using it as an "effect", it was usually a fault with the airbrush (needed the tip or nossal (sp?) or needle to be cleaned). haha cool! i used the same trick to make paint ball splats when i did a logo for a buisness on there garages to eliminate that line you'll need to elimnate the edge that catches the paint.... thats gonna be extremely difficult with out either really whatching your bleed lines or just elminiating the mask all together there is a method called back taping wear you turn the tap back onto its self creating a rolled edge. but you still may get an outline. the artist in my says leave the little black outline and let it flow all the way around like a fine frame for your graphics. i smiled when i saw this body cause i knew the effect just never seen someone use it that well! great job! |
