| Rust-oleum on lexan?
I think I've seen a few people post up bodies that they painted with some Rust-Oleum spray, but I can't recall or find which kind. If you've done this, which kind, and how has it held up? |

I've never tried it but I saw an article in Xtreme RC about an adhesion promoting spray that made general spraypaint adhere to Lexan. I dont recall what it was called though.

I've heard that if you just do really thin coats of paint it will work out alright.

Never had a prob getting rattle can paint to adhere to the lexan, my prob is the paint staying there. It always flakes off with impacts to the lexan body. This is 3 or 4 light coats in fairly warm weather. I've been told the rattle can paint is too stiff/brittle. Proper lexan paint is a bit more elastic perhaps? (edit) this is in reference to regular rattle cans Last edited by Meatwad; 09-11-2009 at 01:20 PM. |

It will stick. but its doesnt flex. thats why Bulldog adhesion promotor is a plus if you want to use rattle can paint.

I have found that if you use a scotch-brite pad to scuff up the inside before you paint the paint sticks quite well. but you have to make sure it is a fine type of scuffing. i did this with my truck and it is sticking quite well. |
