See, that's the problem with you jeep guys. you think there is actually a difference between cj/tj5, 7, 8, 9, 12 but they all still look like jeeps. the XJ actually looks different, could work with the CGR setup as well as anyhting else you can cut the roof off of. An old school waggoneer would be my only other choise, but only if it came with woodgrain stickers! |

I'm always amazed when somebody who drives a station wagon cuts on a "real Jeep". The XJ, ZJ, WJ, KJ are good enough for mommy to get the kids to soccer practice, but when the going gets tough, the lack of real frame always shows through. If not a CJ, I'd love to see an older FSJ... Waggoneer, Gladiator, etc.. Last edited by EvilTwin v2; 10-17-2009 at 11:11 AM. |

Funny, when the railroads tried using S-Trucks and Ford Ranger/Bronco II's for highrail trucks back in the 80's, the frames and suspensions couldn't handle the load of the highrail gear, but the unibody Cherokee seemed to handle it perfectly fine. Even as track inspector vehicles they tended to to better, Dad's XJ's would go farther in 2wd than Ford Explorers (Both TTB and IFS) could in 4wd and the most recent one had twice the miles on it too IIRC the only "real" problem was that they were a little narrow when you put a couple big guys in Carharts and work clothes in them. | |

Don't care what the designation is - other than the new four-door Wranglers, the two doors all look the same to me - we've got plenty of options for Wranglers as it is. As we've only had the $300+ option for XJ's, that's where my vote would go had I not missed the survey. Nothing against 1:1 Wranglers - I wheel with several guys that own them, and plan to pick one up for my daughter when the time comes (she's only 11). We may buy a four-door once we've worn the XJ out. We bought our XJ as a toy, it sees very little mall use - only when the snow is too deep for our other cars. I've been itching to build a scale version of our '96, but would never have the guts to bang up the ScaleOffroad version. As others have mentioned, design in around the SCX chassis and you'd have in instant winner - I can't imagine how many non-RC-freak-XJ-owners would buy in to the hobby after catching wind of this. |

At this point, who gives a rats ass? I'm sure everyone in this thread will buy whatever it is anyways. For those that don't, there is always some other new guy around the corner that will. Now just hurry up and release it! oh yeah, CJ-5... |
