| Help. Body work question!!
I am building a plastic hasbro 1/6 jeep. I have dont some trimming on the body and now need to do some filling in the wheel tubs and such. I have no clue what the plastic compounds are in the jeep plastic, but I want to use styrene to fill and do the tubs. I also need to bond the jeep plastic to itself for the cowl and grill. I am having a hell of a time finding a glue for this. I have called places and asked and search here and on the web, but everyone seems to say glues are for styrene to styrene. I need something that isnt going to pop apart the first time I drop a tire and catch the body. Any help would be great. This is holding me up and I need to finish this rig. Thanks in advance:? |

Tenax 7R or Ambroid ProWeld will bond different plastics to each other. Chances are your Jeep is some sort of styrene. Wouldn't be a bad idea to reinforce the back with some Shoe Goo if the part is going to see a lot of stress. Caution, Shoe Goo can melt styrene and cause sinkholes.

I use Tenax on my hard body projects. If I need to reinforce any hidden area I use 20 minute epoxy.
