2.) use a tooth brush dip it in a bottle and use your finger to flick the brushes(not as hard on your arm).
3.)(I learned from RPMJ) dip to of your fingers into the paint and pretend your flicking a booger.(but at the body)
Each one gives really different results. 2. are the smallest, 1 is medium and 3 are the biggest drops, this is just something you have to play around with.
Also if you water down the paint you are going to get different consistencies as well.
So get a scrap piece of clear plastic and give it a try, try crossing the patterns starting in different spots and different distances away from the body.
I try to use a new technic every time I paint, keeps it fun.
Very good tips, thanks for sharing

Another technique I've seen, but never tried, uses a clothespin and airbrush (double action, or at least internal mix). The clothespin needs to be the spring loaded wooden ones, they usually have a V or channel at the end when they're closed. Set your airbrush tip in that V and the paint from your airbrush will pool in the V, and the air will push the pooled up paint in a splatter pattern.
I did a quick look on Youtube for a video, but came up empty, sorry.

Did another one recently similar to the shortcourse rig, but a little more subtle.

Used the finger dip and flick method for this one.

Got another new one.

I used a old tooth brush, flung paint and also allowed it to drip on this one.

Did another one a little while ago, went back to the finger flick method and a more simple two tone splatter job with some blue accents on the hood.

Hey Turtle, two questions for you... for the splatter paint, do you use the polycarb paint, or just model paint? and where did you get those little hoonigan stickers from?

I use polycarb paint. Most of the time from a bottle, I generally don't thin it, just flick it on. I have on occasion sprayed polycarb into a container and used that, but the consistency is very different and you can tell by the way it lays down.

The Hoonigan stickers RPMJ had made from someone on the board, but I honestly can't remember who made them. So, since I am a team driver he was gracious enough to give me some.

I got the Hoonigan thing from Mr. Block.

And RPMJ got the the first stickers back in June from someone on the board here. I think he has had two or three different people make them now. But I could not tell you a one of them.

Of course I know it wasn't you.

You are right about that, I don't have the patience to weed those things for myself, let alone anyone else.

Im just giving him hell, its what I do.

Yes it is a DF03ra, same one I have had for almost two years now. I have done a couple mods, but I stand by the statement it is a great rally car and super durable. Once you figure out which modifications are important they are nearly indestructible. I have not had to a do a single repair of any type in a few months (20- 3800mah battery packs later). I have a box full of upgrades and frankly it just doesn't need them.
