I painted two more recently, These were both painted in colder temperatures using the finger dip method. The colder temperatures made the paint really stringy changed the look a little, but only subtly.

I like the last paint scheme I did with the Tamiya 2004 Impreza so I did a couple more that way.

Tamiya DF01 Porsche Cayenne

Tamiya TB01 2004 Subaru Impreza WRC.

All three together.

Nice work!

How do you get like the lines in it? I've done a little splatter but I don't know how you get those lines unless you mask that....

Ty, how do you do the fade from white to black? Some look like it splatters into the next color while others look like they've been taped...I'm getting ready to paint a Dingo and think this would be fun.

fade/splatter into next color

harder line - tape?

They are all a tape line I mask off the areas that are going to be pure black and start splatter painting right at the tape lines, I try to get rid of the hard lines so it looks like it fads into solid. After I do the black splatter I spray the white. Then pull the masking tape and spray the black.

Hope that makes sense.

Awesome looking bodies! What paint(s) are you using to do the "splattered" look?

Thanks guys.

For paint I use just about anything for Lexan bodies.

I have used fascolor in the past, but most the time I use bottled Pactra paints for the splatter and rattle can Pactra for the rest. I air brush sometimes too, but only when I want some bizarre custom color.

Very nice jobs, have you done any on scale crawler bodies? I'm picking up a new lexan body this weekend and I would like to try a splatter job, Just trying to figure out colors and style. After seeing your cars I've really started to like the white with black/blue splatter, but I like the look of a scale muddy truck, so maybe white/black truck with permanent mud marks... yeah!
