Thanks guys! I did another splatter body today and shot a few progress photos to show the process a little. Started with a lot of tape. Used rattle can pactra blue streak, sprayed it into the lid and then flicked it. I flick heavy on the tape line so the straight line disappears as much as possible. After the blue dried I sprayed the white. Here you can see the texture of the splatter on the inside of the body. After the white dried I cut the tape back to the next area I wanted to add splatter. I repeated the first step again laying black heavily on the tape line. After the black dried I sprayed blue over it. Once the blue was dry I could remove the rest of the tape and spray the black. Skip ahead a little and this is what I got. And here is one more I did with very minimal splatter. -Ty |

Your welcome! But you shouldn't joke about the fart painting. I read a story a couple years ago about a porn star that used to do that onto canvas... Unless that story I heard about was you... |

Who makes the Citroen body? Been thinking about getting a rally car eventually, and would love to do one up in the 2014 WRC Citroen Total Abu Dhabi team livery. Is it 1/10th?

The body is made by Monkey Racing in the Czech Republic. They are just some die hard rally guys making them in a garage. | |

| Re: Turtle's Splatterness Thanks guys. The tires on the Fiesta are just run of the mill Tamiya Rally blocks. Except I took some body scissors to them and changed the lugs up to allow them to clean out better and pull harder in loose dirt. There are more details on my rally tire trimming adventures in this thread. Turtle's Modified XV-01 |
