Talking New brite Jk paint help

Hey what do you guys recommend for painting a new brite JK body? I have an air brush. I was thinking about trying to use duplicolor spray cans from schucks. Thanks for any input

I used Tamiya color on mine. The non lexan paint. I'm thinking of repainting mine thought with MOPAR factory paint they sell in spray cans at the dealership. So I can make my JK an actual factory color. It's pricey though. Like $18 a 4 oz can.

I dont see why that would melt the plastic. I used duplicolor on several projects and never anything like that .

Spray thin coats as a thick coat will craze the plastic they use. Or put down a good primer base. Plasticote sandable primer is a good base. Let the primer gas out for at least 24 hours before shooting the DupliColor spray and you should not have a problem. When the final coat has gassed out, spray a coat of Future Acrylic floor wax. Makes an excellent clear coat that is easily touched up.

Well I am no expert, but as long as you strip the paint throughly, and prime it well, Dupli Color or other rattle can should be fine. I would also think that an airbrush is definitely an advantage.
