I also have to say go for it. With everything you can do to a normal crawler it would be nice to see one of these done. I have tried a few times to get a Tonka\Nylint truck that would work/fit a scale chassis. I man you get a metal body a full interior and a drop bed for 30.00 give or take. You cant get or build a abs body for that. With a little work and some trimming, painting and filling in you would have a unique, tuff, nice built scaler.

if you got the dump truck it would also be sweet to rig the dump bed on a third channel so it works from the remote.... |

| Right off the ebay page: The body itself is 8" wide at the front and rear fenders. The wheelbase is approximately 10.5". The body is 21" long (front bumper to rear bumper) Saw it on ebay a couple of days ago. I think its pretty cool. I was thinkin about bidding on it. |

Cheap money for something different That interior could be detailed so easily, it's got a nice drop bed already and if the window section can be removed it wouldn't be difficult to cut some fresh Lexan and fab up some new glass either. Bid on it! |

Ive been really looking for a metal body to build a scaler with. Thought id pass along some of my findings in case anybody else has any interes. Heres a CL ad to a consignment store up here with alot of old tonka bodies. The jeep is about 10" long. Also has a jeepster like above thats about 12" http://burlington.craigslist.org/atq/2032301878.html |
