| jeep cherokee colour
Hi guys, I'm wanting to paint my Proline Cherokee a very dark navy blue, Tamiya's blue isn't dark enough. Has anyone used the Tamiya PS-38 (translucent blue) backed with PS-5 (black)? Or any other ideas would be greatly apprciated. Thanks Col |

I have been looking for the same thing. The only thing I was able to come up with is having a friend of mine with an air brush mix up some paint and try to get the color I am looking for. I have not had any time off to work with him on it, but hopefully soon. |

Pactra Chezoom teal RC291 backed with black. May not be deep enough for you. Pictures never show its true color, in real life it has a very slight tinge of green to the blue, but it is a pretty deep blue. If you are looking for close to black blue then this wouldn't be it. Just an option for you to look at. Picture is a bit bright and it seems darker in real life. |

Hi Jerry, basically what you'd want to do is mask off the trim bits, and then shoot like 3 coats of white, letting them dry between applications. Then remove the masking and shoot 2 coats of black. That will give you a good contrast. You'll also want to look into cutting the edges off of the window masks before shooting black so you'll get the black window trim, for a nice touch. edit: Also, how many layers and the backing color have A LOT to do with the final results. 2 coats of a color will look radically different depending on whether it's backed with black, white, silver, or even another color. For an upcoming build of mine, I'm thinking of doing Corsa Grey backed with Pearl White, just to give it a hint of color, and keep it from being too-too blindingly white.
