clear coating
 

Is there anyway of clear coating with paint or something i can put over my stickers on my body so they dont get pull or scratched off by rocks and what not! please post you ideas

Did you paint from the inside?? If so whats the big deal?

He is talking about decals that go on the outside after you have painted - he dosen't want them to get scraped up.

Either get some spare decals, or live with it. Scrapes and scratches give character ;-) Any kind of clear coat you put on the outside is going to get scraped up as well, so there really isn't much you can do. You could try covering the stickers with a peice of wide clear packing tape , but I am not sure how good it would look, or how much protection to would provide. Maybe apply the graphics from the inside next time - there is a glue you can get that lets you paste photos and such on the inside of your bodies, and then still paint it as you normally would. XXX-Main makes some, and there may be another company who makes something like that.

what about using a sort of spray adhesive(sp?) on the front of the decals...and stick um on the inside of the body...and then paint over them?

I thought about putting them on the inside but then i was faced with how to get them to stick. I tryed a pre-runner with an old body, useless stcker and scotch tape but its turned out pretty sh!tty lookin. I still wanna use a paint and put it over the stickers, at least if that gets srcatched off i can reapply it. so gimma some types of clear coat paint i could use please
Heres a pic of my body now with the stickers on the out side. i wouldnt care if they got scrated of normally but it took me forever to find these scale lookin ones so i wanna keep them lookin fresh:-P

Well, you would probably need a clear designed for Lexan bodies, just like the paint on the inside. Just beware, scratches will probably get through the clear coat, and it may be a little tricky touching it up after it has been scratched. Use thin coats, because by painting on the outside any runs or pools will show up easily.

Couldn't you use XXX Main picture glue to glue the decals on the inside of the body?Then paint as usual.

If you have a good printer you can also print whatever decals you want to use and use the XXX Main picture glue. If you are using Parma Fascolor paints the fascoat can also be used to glue them to the inside before paint, it dries clear and works pretty good.
