| Lifted paint
Was working on Honcho removing the body. Slightly flexed side panel while removing. I noticed that the black Tamiya paint lifted from lexan and flaked off. What the hell... Has this happened to anyone else?... Just the black. The other color was a different brand (Pactra) That color is holding fine. I did everything before painted, I Washed the body, Warmed the paint in warm water. The black was painted before the Pactra. I even masked off the black before I painted the Pactra to keep the cross of the 2 different paints from effecting each other. After I finish cleaning off the Black should I lightly scotch brite the area to be repainted? |

A little scoffing will always help. Are you sure the paint was polycarbonate?

Yup, make sure its for polycarbonate. I bought a body and a bunch of paint from the LHS, did a really nice flame job for a friend, and about a week later it was lifting off and flaking. Thats when I discovered the paint had to be for polycarbonates, you'd think the hobby shop guy would've said something when I was checking out. Ruined a really nice airbrush paint job and waisted a lot of time. Lesson learned |

thats why, you have to use the PS the PS is for lexan and the TS is for plastic or hard bodies like easycrawler said

| As soon as you said Tamiya paint, I wondered if this is what you did. They make paint for lexan (polycarbonate) and for static modeling (plastic). Don't worry, you're not the first to do it. |
