looks dull still has overspray film on

Look's nice, I thaught it was gonna have that aluminum look to it until you said it still had the film on it.

How did you get the texturing in the paint on the roof scoop?

Marbling technique. First lay down a candy/transparent. Color then dab on silver with a crumpled plastic bag then back with black

That is a very cool looking shell!

Looking at the videos on You Tube, it looks really easy to do, do you have any tips or lessons learned that you can share?

you can do this technique with rattle cans if you dont have an airbrush
biggest tip for marbling or any other painting is practice on scraps of lexan or i use clamshell packaging any clear plastic i'm painting it up
also try backing with different colors, like white or a darker opaque of the first transparent color
and thanks guys for the kind words still learning only been painting for about 5-6 months
