Default painting a steel cage

will normal lexan paint stick to a steel roll cage? thanks

pretty sure it wont. Pick up some rust inhibiting paint like rustoleum and give it a few coats of that

You want to make sure you prime your cage with Etching Primer before you spray your paint on.

Scuff the hell out of it and de-grease it well before shooting any primer or paint.

You probably don;'t have to primer if you are shooting krylon or rustoleum though, as the rocks will jsut scrap it off anyways.

I haven't tried the etching primer myself but normal primer doesn't seem to help it stick. Not to mention looks crappy when rocks scrap the paint off leaving the usually lighter primer color(mine being white). I wanna try powder coating.

I beadblast my tubework,then use Krylon gray primer,then airbrush my main color with Createx textile paint(which is the same as Faskolor)then i shoot 3 coats of automotive grade clear though my big gun.Its not going anywhere.In fact ive had to strip paint off before to do some repairs and the same beadblaster wont hardly touch it because it has gotten so hard when it cured over time.
