Show you're Boat sides

I'm looking for boat sides. I'm interested in what people are doing for boat sides. Please post up you're pic's and ideas for boat sides.

I instantly think of this truck: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showt...t=toyota+Trail

It's not mine, but something about it back in those days of RCC made it stick out to me.

Whoa! That thing is awesome looking "thumbsup"

It has an old school look to it.

Well, i though i would try my hand at them, so here is what i came up with.

This is the basic frame work of the boat sides.

Here i cut a piece of 7/16'' delrin that i have lying around. I drilled it for the screws to mount to the alum sides.

Here they are all screwed together.

Next will be mounted to the frame .

The delrin helps blend it into the lines of the body.

All i can say, is i think they came out pretty good. A little fine tuning and they will look much better. I'll test them out this Sunday and report.

Might I suggest tapering the ends of the delrin rod, so it looks like it turns back into the body. Basically rounding the edges, should hang up less too.
Or, if you made it a little longer, you could blend it into the fender flares.

Thanks for the input"thumbsup" you are right. After getting a good look at it, there are some gaps that need to be filled. This is my first attempt at them, some imperfection are expected. After i test them out this Sunday i'll see if they are going to hold up to the abuse, I'll adjust the design and make the change. Thanks again for the idea.

I'm not, but I think after looking at this thread, I am seriously considering making a pair.
