| Rustoleum Enamel
Has anyone tried Rustoleum's Enamel for cage work and bumpers? I have my metal work primed w/ Rustoleums Etching Primer. Now just trying to get the most durable finish I can out of a rattle can. -Thanks for any help |

I have and it sprayed on nice, unfortunately I sold the cage before I used it. Though I know it was tough, it isn't as tough of a finish as a powdercoat.

I used it on my wreckluse chassis with some kind of primer and it chips off real easy but I also used it on a tamiya hardbody and it has held firm even with some nasty tumbles. so maybe my primer was not to good on the wreckluse |

A little off the original topic, but how would it work with RC bodies? I've heard some people use Rustolium Plastic on their bodies. I think Crawling has more abuse than street or stadium racing, so it'd chip off after a few tumbles...

I've used some of the appliance paint with great success on metal work, it takes a bit to scrape it off. Not sure about hard bodies. Non-polycarbonate paint will just flake off of lexan bodies, been there in my nitro days. Its not pretty after its flaked off either |

I used it on a set of aluminum wheels and it held up great. I was able to strip it back off when I decided I wanted them raw again without too much of a fight. |

I can't remember if I have used it on tube work before, but I did just paint a body with it. It ends up coming out really nice after some clear coat on top. |

Looks pretty rusted out to me man I like the "weathered" paint job, nice work. Did you just use a Rustoleum clear enamel over the top?

Sometimes the interchanging of different paint brands don't work together very well, but in this case they worked together extremely well. However I think it depends on the color. A claret wine Rustoleum I have doesn't like to bond as well to other coats as well as the greens, yellow and silvers did.

Thanks Turtle- I will be using all the same brand to make sure everyone gets along w/ eachother. I will post up the results after punishing a bumper on the rocks!
