Roll Cage/Exo Cage? so i just made my first jig to bend some tubing. i was wondering if i should use 3/16" or 1/4" tubing? it's going on a 4 door rubicon SCX-10 scaler on 1.9s any tips on bending it all? |
3/16 is about 2 in at 1/10 scale and 1/4 is 2.5 in so thats up to you I like 3/16 its more the size of most cages out there. Do some test bends to see how your bender works that way you know where to start your bends. Weld or braze the ends of two peices together and bend them at the same time if you can that way it makes two of the same part at the same time. Also make each peice as long as you can they are stronger then joints and you wont have to do as much brazing and sanding. hope that helps. Also if you get some coat hangers you can make test peices to get the shape right. |
ive been using pipe cleaners to bend and mock up the cage prior to bending my actual metal. this may help |
i would love to see how you plan to attach the cage |
