Default Painted body before drilling post holes oops

How can I line up and mark the body? I was thinking of putting clay inside the body near where each hold should be then positioning the body where i want it. Then by pushing down on the body it would make an indentation in the clay where I need to drill. OR is there an easier way?

Take a little bit of dash soap. liquid kind and dab on the body posts. get the body where u want then drop it on the posts. the soap will leave a marking where to reem the body

I used grease. And maybe shock oil too. Yep, anything that leaves a mark is good.

You can also use a flash light. Look at your vehicle from above the body while shining a flashlight from below it (aimed at the body post(s). You should be able to see the body post this way as long as the paint is not to thick. Then just mark it and drill.

I like the idea of putty though. May be even easier then the flashlight.

How about lining it up while the body is still clear and take a sharpie marker and mark the center of each body post. Then when it's all painted, you have these spiff-O-matic dots, right where you need to drill and ream!

Well, I guess it's time to strip the paint off and start over, marking the body posts first.
