Are the rock crawler bodies lexan, hard plastic or? Are these bodies also painted from the inside? I would assume you need to use the same lexan paint?

yes, most are lexan. paint from the inside with polycarb paint like other RC bodies. some paint the inside silver or copper & then paint the outside color so that when they get scratched, it looks like bare metal or rust. some scale bodies are hard.

Like DRW said most or most common are the lexan made ones. Typically painted on the inside. Many "scale" bodies are hard, made from styrene or abs plastics. Some of the hard bodies can be bought through rc sites. Many of them come from cheap toy grade rc's that you might find at WalMart or Target or Radio Shack. $50 to $75 rc's often have very nice detailed and pretty accurate bodies on them. The Lexan ones are good if you are going to bash on it as they are lighter (less top heavy) and hold up pretty good. But if you are building a rig that you want to get the most realistic looks out of, then the Hard bodies are hard to beat. |
