| Any adhesion promoter?
I did some searching and have come to the conclusions that krylon is not the way to go, auto paints (namely duplicolor) work but work better with the bulldog adhesion promoter. So my question is will any adhesion promoter work or is bulldog the only one? And do you spray it on the lexan before the paint? Last edited by Rooney7783; 01-12-2012 at 02:23 PM. |

On Lexan bodies, buy lexan paint...done. Wash body good...spray with lexan paint. |

I know there is lexan specific paint (pactra, tamiya...). But, not only do I have to order it online, no one makes the color I want. I do not have an airbrush either so it has to be spray cans.

I used some of this on black delrin beadlock rings to paint em orange. Not sure if it holds better than not using it cause I used it on all 4 beadlock rings. Not sure if it's what your looking for or not. MicroPrep: Microscale |

Spazstix makes a pre-prep aerosol: SZX90059 Spaz Surface Pre-Prep Aerosol Never used it as if you prep carefully you really wouldn't need any adhesion promoter. On ABS hard bodies an adhesion promoter does help especially for acrylic paints. |

I'm about to paint a lexan body I had shipped over from Japan. In other words, it cost me more than usual so I don't want to screw it up. I found that the paint color I want is only available from Spaz Stix. The issue is that the only person I know who used this paint said the paint flaked off too easily, even after typical prep prior to painting it. I've heard I could use automotive wax/grease remover, but does anyone have experience with any particular brands? I'm concerned with affecting the lexan in a way that it'll alter the appearance or clarity of the paint underneath. I've read some people use Bulldog on lexan, but I'm skeptical of trying that. Seems reviews are mixed and it sometimes results in an orange peel texture....not what I want! Any suggestions on the best way to get the Spaz Stix paint to adhere w/o messing up the lexan? |

I've used bulldog and the 3m brand on Rc bodies but I was shooting flat black on the outside. I'm about to paint a bolink legends body and every other one I've seen has big paint flakes missing after it takes some hits . I too was wondering if I used and adhesion promoter on the inside , what the paint would look like. Because it makes it cloudy on the outside when I've sprayed it.
