| Week #7 Template - Celtic
With St. Patrick's Day quickly approaching I thought it was fitting to do the Celtic designs now. There are some heavy Nordic viking influences on my Celtic designs. Cause that's just the way I roll. So cut up some vinyl, paint up a wee Celtic style body, put on the kilt and head to the local track this weekend. I like your website. This may be a stupid question, but what is the easiest way to take the pdf and transfer it to the RC body?

Not stupid at all. I've been meaning to write up a little header for the website. Easiest way is to find someone with a vinyl cutter to cut these and use them as masks. That's pretty much the easiest way. You could also just tape it up, print it, trace it, and then cut it out. That's the method I used for years.

Those are cool designs. I like the axe/dragon in the middle there, very cool. And the bottom three too.

as stupid as it sounds i take wax paper cut it to the size of a peice of computer paper. take the wide painters tape and cover the wax paper with the tape. i try to do small overlapping sections so its not to thick. i will then take my image convert to black and while and outline if its not allready done so.. when i print i change the printer paper to matte paper which is supposed to absorb more ink. after its done printing i let it sit for about 10 minutes take an exacto knife cut out ur design and carfully remove from the waxpaper and apply to the inside of the body. if there is writeing or the image only looks good one way make sure to invert the pictures ur printing otherwise they will be backwards when u print. i have done my last 3 bodys this way. i have used the liquid vynl that u put on the inside of the body with these designs as well it does not take the tape off and if u use high quality tape the lines will be just as good as useing vynal and a plotter. its alot more work for a lot less money but it works

That doesn't sound stupid at all. I don't have a vinyl cutter either. I use wide painters tape in much the same fashion you do. I rough a idea on the outside. Usually with a large tip marker on the protective coating. Then I tape off the sections that need masked and pencil fine details on the inside, then cut. If your method works for you. Keep using it.

That is supremely gorgeous. If I had a body to paint, I'd use the same you did on the sides, and the dragon on the hood.
