I have read several times of people using rubbing alcohol. Obviously you would want to keep an eye on the pieces. I would soak each piece on its own and take them out every 5 minutes or so and hit them with a stiff brush. This will give you an idea of how long it will take the alcohol to start affecting the paint...so you don't get too many pieces going at once. Rinse with water immediately to remove any remaining alcohol. Try Google search too, there are a lot of model train sites that have some good info. Chameleon stripper is supposed to be good too, but not cheap and it works slowly (I haven't tried it) Also maybe SuperClean? Good luck |

the alcohol works but it takes a while to really do good and it still leaves some spots sometimes
