Default bonding agents?

I want to do some custom hard body works, which may involve cutting and re-modeling the original hard body. I saw many cab-extension works with cutting, re-join but never seen a tutorial... Maybe I didn't search it right. I've tried many agents and epoxy putty for ABS but they just wouldn't work Could anybody give me some info about which glues should I use, and how to make the re-joined body strong enough?
