Painting fender flares

So I got a set of F350 fender flares from RC4WD a couple years back, and they have been awesome. This year I decided to do a complete repaint on my truck, and everything is going great, paint on the truck is all dry, its coming along great. I check on the fender flares, and three days after painting, they're still very tacky! I painted them the same as the body, primed them, that dried fine. Mist coats and one thicker coat of khaki krylon paint, still tacky! Anyone have any tips on drying them? Is there a way I can strip them without hurting the material? I have a scale comp coning up this Sunday, and I need these flares!

It sounds like they might be the rubberized ones...still tacky usually means the paint is not compatible with the material or the paint layers are incompatible. You could try to strip them with Castrol Super Clean. Try it on a small area first to make sure it doesn't react with the flares.

What kind of primer are you using? What paint did you mist, the Krylon? Is it enamel, laquer, acrylic? And for drying, you can try a hair drier to help it along. I actually use a little elec heater with the ceramic elements and internal fan when I paint with Rustoleum gloss paints, they always seem to take forever to cure. Sometimes it's a week before I can handle it. When you mix layers, there is difference between dry and cured.

I used sandable automotive scratch filler primer, and regular krylon khaki colored spray paint. I used the same combination on the body, and its already dry, buffed and waxed. So I'm not sure what exactly the issue is.. but I've got to figure something out, I've got less than two days till the comp!
