Default sheet metal panels ~ how do i get it too rust?

my wraith has sheet metal panels (bare/unpainted) and i want them to be rusty. so what suggestions do you guys have to quicken this procedure??

the type of steel will have a make a difference too.
obviously mild steel is the best for rusting.

I was just talking about the same for my rat rid project.
Thinking brush paint - tractor pull through the rocks and a salt water dip.

Muriatic acid wash should do it. Works on new hardware to make it look old and rusty.

i was thinkin salt water but thought id ask to see if there were faster results?

ive rubbed it two-three times now with salt water, if that doesnt go fast enough....where do i get muriatic acid from?

Go to Micheals or AC Moore they have liquid rust I have used it on scale plastic models it works well and looks real. Just do some tests on scrap material first to see before you get an overkill on your body

That acid stuff doesn't look like fun stuff

Just put the pieces in salt water for a few days and you'll be good, and it's non-toxic
