Default Glues for gluing lexan

So I've been looking for a body that would make my Nightcrawler a little different. Didn't want the stock one or the VW bug one

Found a PL 50's Chevy body that looks like it'll work

I'm going to bob the rear, but this means cutting out the bed and tail gate, then cutting those to the proper shape, and gluing them back in

I'll be cutting along body lines, so that's the easy part

I want to paint the inside, but I'm not sure what glue will adhere to lexan AND dry clear (as well as be able to be smoothed out so it doesn't look like junk)

I thought CA glue, but I've read many people use shoe glue or hot glue guns/ silicone

Which would give me the best result?

(Prob should've looked into this before buying the body, lol )

i really am not sure but it sounds like maybe paint it before cutting and glueing. an overlap youll always see but if they are flush with a backer from what you cut in my head that sounds good. just be sure to back the paint so there isnt a dark spot and less chance of the glue messin up the paint.

like i said i dont really know so wait for more input from others

or after all is done bodywork wise you could paint from the outside as an idea

oh and from what ive glued here n there misc. it seems like ca glue worked on alot besides metal

You know, this method sounds pretty good and sounds like it'd work, and may give me the cleanest look as I wouldn't have to worry about smoothing the glue

I'll save my rem. lexan and play with CA to see how it does

Shoe goo works great. It remains flexible so it doesn't crack or peel off. I would probably do your cutting and glue with shoe goo, then paint the outside after all said and done.
