West Coast Shootout lid number two

This is the second giveaway body for the http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/2013-...-shootout.html. I went with a deep red main color thats ripped back to show the orange true fire. Under the fire is a chrome honeycomb design. The roll bar is chrome and the windows are tinted. Here's a few pics. "thumbsup"

Very nice paint work! I love the progress pics to show the talentless like myself how it's done!

Thanks, ky_ace. One of these days I would like to do a step by step on one of these paint jobs. Not too sure if anybody would want to see that though.

I think it would be awesome if you could share the process with us.
As I dislike painting myself, I think it would be a benefit to those like me.8)

I know how much work goes into any paint job like this, and I think it would explain the costs and time involved to those who don't."thumbsup"

I think that I'm going to work on doing this. I have a few Monster trucks to shoot in the next few weeks. There's quite a bit of detail work on them so that would be perfect.

So how do you do such clean lines? Do you use a bunch of stencils that you stick on the bodies? Or do you draw it all out and Fasmask it and than cut it all out?

Everything except the honeycomb is done free hand in liquid mask. That was done using a paint mask that I made on my vinyl cutter.
