I'm thinking it would add a lot of unnecessary weight?

Recce01 sprayed a 5T body with Rhino lining and ruined the integrity of it, made it noodly.

I used it on an old on road car body. Seemed to work just fine. Just spray a few light coats don't go all crazy on the first Fat fingered from the phone- Corey |

I have a can that I used on my Truck that I think I might use on my Honcho to make the hood flat. I can't imagine that it would add that much weight.

I use the "as seen on tv" Flex Seal. I think it works great and tough. used it on my proline jk on the flares and top. It adds a little texture and doesnt scrape off on rocks also doesn't hurt the plastic. Just one coat is all it needs this stuff goes a long ways.

I used the method on the plastidip can of sprinkling a gritty substance after the first coat then covering it with more coats to make a line-x texture. Gotta let it dry and see how it turned out on the aluminum on front bumper

With the amount needed to paint a rc body it will most likely weigh the same as a regularly painted body that has 3 coats and a backer. Its just like a regular paint it just has a different bonding agent which changes the texture of it. Fat fingered from the phone- Corey |

i used liquid tape(spray type) on my slash body just one coat and it seems to have added no wait and it makes cleaning it up a breeze all i do is take like five to ten paper trowels(depends on what i have been running in, more recently its been snow and mud.) and just wipe it done or even let it take a bath.

i bought some white and black plasti dip (all they had at lowes). im spraying it on a masked off section on an old beat up body. so far 3 coats on.i could scratch off the over spray pretty easily but thats with maybe 2 hours of drying time. i dont know if the adhesion gets stronger over a period of time ? also the stuff does stink pretty bad so keep that in mind. as of right now im up in the air if i want to try it on my new body. |

I plastidipped my grill and a few other parts of my 1:1 car a few months ago, after numerous washes, road salt, etc, it looks just like it did when I first sprayed it. Planning on doing my wheels as soon as it gets a little warmer outside on my day off. I think it would be fine on an RC body. The paint will peel off when you want it to, but holds up fairly well otherwise. Once the paint cures, it will be just fine. Check out dipyourcar.com on youtube, they have some good info on how to do this for 1:1's that may help with the RC stuff. |

well the portion i masked off on my beat up body came up when i pulled off the masking tape. i wanted to try it with masking tape so i could see how it would react when i pulled it off. i wanted to do a design ,not just a simple color. maybe have to pull the masking tape up when the dip is still wet ? that in itself creates an issue as it takes more then one coat of paint.... |
