I use an Xacto knife to cut out the holes.

Glue in light buckets, I used Automotive Goop but a lot of folks use Shoe Goo.

Attach lenses

The Traxxas Grave Digger light kit has self locking buckets that work really good, you'd have to glue lenses to them if you wanted though.

see the problem is i have curved lenses not round like ur body or the bettele below...if it was round like urs it be easy...but my dodge body is curved...i order some lexan and gonna try to make some light buckets...but before i glue them i figured i would paint the body and cover up the lights with some liquid mask...its gonna be hard to curve those light buckets

Or try searching for drift body parts, they sell a bunch of different sizes and shapes of light buckets for those cars.....maybe you can find something close.

there is a lexan Subaru Impreza body out there that comes with light buckets that are curved similar to the Dodge Ram shape (I have one) - you dont cut the lexan body, leave the "lens" area clear, and glue the buckets in from the inside (shoe-goo?)...not sure if you can get the buckets seperately or not...

Or, you could try building something out of styrene - cheap & easy to work with...

I would mask the headlights and leave them clear.

Then build buckets out of styrene. If you can use sissors and super glue your good to go, make them out cardboard/tape first then you have stensils to cut the styrene out.

drill some holes for leds.

I use chrome tape for the insides

Then I used black RTV to glue them in place.
