Default Model "A" Cab

Lots of great builds on RCC but I noticed all the Really Cool rigs have one thing in common, hand made bodies. And the only way to get one is make it. So here go's.
I have made a few small things with styrene but this will be my first full body. Thats why I picked the model A, not too many curves.

This won't be to scale but sized to work with the rig I want to build. It should be close to 1/10 and look proportionate.(On with the pics)
Cab back

To make the rolled edge on the roof I used a piece of 1/2" pipe got it hot with a heat gun and bent the styrene around it.
Don't know if Ford made an extended cab but this one is going to be.

Got a bunch of parts cut out, I'll post more when I get some glued together.

Thanks for look'in tell me what you think.

Thanks. I posted in paint and body cuz I didn't know if it should go in general crawler , scale, or 2.2. ? It will be SCX10 based with 2.2 Rock Beast tires . With a custom cage. I'll start a new thread later.

project like this convince me to build a body from scratch next time around. Its probably easier and more straight forward than hacking and patching plastic body. Your work is outstanding so far. I like your attention to details like the insets in windows and firewall. Subscribed btw.

Looks great man! Very impressive work. Should be a nice cab once you're finished.

Very cool! If you need any detail shots of an A, let me know and I can grab some (coupe, not pick-up, but most features are identical). I like that you're doing a '30-'31 model....I'm a bit partial to them myself. BTW, Ford didn't make any extra cabs back then, but there's been plenty custom ones made since!

I like the early bodies too, this has some detail from several. Putting on what I like from each one.

Got most of the dash done still needs some gages.

Added some detail

I don't think the square corner cabs have this body line but its what I like.

Thanks everyone. A little slow going but I got something done.
Added detail to the dash.

This is why there is no doors.

A lot of work making everything fit right.

Not sure how I'm just noticing this, but damn that is one nice looking cab. It's different it's clean and the interior will really set it apart. I'm anxiously awaiting the next round of updates and pictures....keep up the great work
