Default A Clod with a twist.

I always liked the look of a rare extended cab (not club cab) 80's Chevy. So I took and cut and spliced together two clod bodies.I then looked at how long it was with the long wheel base bed on it. So I took care of that as well. I took and inch out of the bed in front of the wheel well. So now it's an extended cab short wheel base Chevy with the same wheel base as a regular clod body.It has a drop bed that's not finished yet but almost. It has an original clod Chevy grill and tail gate. I also took a new blower from a new clods motor and the scoop from the original clod and combined them. The paint is simple white and navy blue. The stripes are from a HPI 79 ford truck decal sheet. This is the truck I have for inspiration.

This is what I came up with.I hope you like it.

Custom chassis with all metal axles, leaf sprung, 1.9 ripsaws, rc4wd Old school planetary trans, transfer case, a 10T speed gems motor and a xl5 esc nothing to exciting. I'll have more pics up in a bit.

Here's the chassis and running gear so far. I'm not done. Like all the wiring is all temporary and I may move the trans a bit.But here's how it sits now.

Looks like it will work real well. Can't wait to see some action shots. Some white wagon wheels would really set it off.

+10 with what Rick said. Some white wagon wheels with blue stripes would sit perfectly!

Yeah I've thought about those too. Tires and wheels are on the list to get.The white wagon wheels are the wheels. I just haven't nailed down the right tire yet.I want something with some size to it to fill the wheels wells a little better. But not look like a crawler tire tread. They make killer looking "mud or dirt" tires but they're all on the smaller 1.9 size. But it'll be a little while till I get them.

White wheels with some MTZs, TSLs or a set of Pitbulls. Cut boggers would look mean as hell.

Paint and body work look great man. Nice job for sure.

What size are you looking for? They have some great 1.9 scale tires that are 3.8"-4.2".... I think those would be big, but not too big.... I think these would great with that truck on the wagon wheels.... Dick Cepek mud countries....

definitely get boggers if you can, they will make that truck look a lot more scale for sure, plus I always loved boggers. they were the first tires I trailed and I fell in love with them.
and you can always cut the threads a bit to help in sidehilling and rocks.

your truck is very nice, I like it
