Re: What colour is this

might be Atomic Rust from Pactra... but not sure.
Testors » Pactra » R/C Car Lacquers » Spray Paints » Atomic Rust Metallic

By the band of black on the lower sides, I would think it's the original NB metallic red that these come in.

Hmm that looks close but the colour name would suggest a orange/bronze colour

I think it looks a bit deeper and more metallic. Hmm

its the stock red from what i can see. i can even make out the non-sharp border between the black and red just like you see on the nb when you take the stickers off.

yep stock red. the newbrights have a silver base coat and a candy red over that i believe. pretty awesome depth/paint for a walmart "toy"

As said above, try a candy red, backed by silver.

yep. and if you dont know what your doing with candy, stick with a metalic red. it will get you close enough ;-)"thumbsup"
go with a medium red, to get the highlights/lowlights like the candy above. ie not too bright of a red.

Agreed.

Candy is a lot harder to spray than most ppl think...especially from a rattle can. Pactra makes a decent metallic red that will get you close. Just spray LIGHT even coats & you'll get the depth ya want.

Thx guys great advice. Not sure if we have the Pactra range in the UK but will have a look. tamiya paints are widely available, they have a std red metallic and a red wine metallic so may have to look at one of these.
