Well, its looking like there is a solid following! it doesn't seem too big of an issue with exactly how the back half will be....

I think a full hard top or simulated soft top would be cool.

If this is a project your willing to take on, using this thread or even creating one to get feedback on its name or specific details would be awesome. A vehicle designed by the people for the people.

So, Jake from **** has been great too? I'm not familiar with that store.

Short hard top, similar to trail ranger, with a recessed bed.

Full length top (with rear simulating a soft top)

Short hard top, with add-on simulated (formed Lexan) soft top, which adds a degree of difficulty for mounting flanges.

On another note... Yes, Corey and the crew at RPP have been great vendors, as well as Jake at ****.

I'd love to see a Tin Top.
Then people could cut it off if they want.

i would personally love something similar to the trail finder in regards to size and wheelbase.

a lwb zuk with about the same size of a dingo body, but with a dropped bed. people could then hack some of the back off to make a short wb zuk or whatever. maybe a hardtop could be a seperate piece.

basically the trail ranger but more scale detail.

BUT i'd be happy with anything bigger than the speedpal or tamiya samurai bodies. something that looks super scale with a set of scx or yota axles under it, or take it to a monster sami on 1tons with some ar60s. the thing that sucks about the tamiya and speedpal bodies are to be scale you have to use mrc axles, and its just makes for a small rig overall.

id be down for at least 5 bodies... i'd just buy alot and make sure i had them for the future. wish i had done that with the trail rangers...

Do you have any more reference pics of this?
And can I get a few finish dimensions, such as Wheelbase, length, width, and height?

For now, we can keep all info in this thread.

I would be in for 1. I have been wanting to do a custom build to replicate the 1:1 I used to have. I still have a trail ranger body and I am sad they discontinued it. It could definitely be better with more detail and a drop bed. A tin top body would be cool also.

This might help you Mr Dynamic

SWB but cab width, front clip and doors are the same.

I would think that due to the width of AX10 diffs you'd want to "upscale" a little from 1/10 scale to make the body more scale on the available diffs.

The trailranger had a slightly weird side profile compared to the 1:1 but otherwise worked ok.

To pull Lexan into some sort of drop bed would add a great deal of difficulty to your plug. Many people would only cut it out anyway.

Most LWB vehicles had the 1.0ltr hood that is quite flat in the middle as opposed to the SWB which has the 1.3ltr and a small bump in the hood.

For dimensions, I meant the appropriate (approx.) 1:10 scale dimensions to base the overall shell dimensions off of. Overall, would the optimum fit be for an SCX10?

The dropped bed (at least to an extent) would not be an issue forming. But, the bed rail/back of cab area intersection would tend to web.

Today, I ordered components to build a new desktop computer for Cad/Cam, and I am training another designer with an emphasis in thermoforming.

Samurais were small trucks. If you want to make a SWB body to fit Axial axles and a typical SCX10 11.5" wheelbase it would have to be like 1/7 scale.
