Factory paint removal I have a Honcho and would like to change the body color will the Dot 3/4 brake fluid take the paint off. Some of the factory paint can be hard to remove, or do you have a better way? Thanks J |
Re: Factory paint removal I found this I'll have to try the nitro out... http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/axial...t-removal.html |
Re: Factory paint removal Well I managed to get the gray paint ( it is a Honcho body ) off using Dot 4 brake fluid. Would I do it again :flipoff:, only if it was a body that wasn't avalible for purchase. Damn it was a pain. I let the body soaked really good but the paint wouldn't come off easy. Had another body the was painted with a spray can and it came off pretty easy. So thats my report, you can do it not sure I would do it again 8). J. |
Re: Factory paint removal the nitro method is much quicker and less effort |
Re: Factory paint removal Does it FOG the lexan???(either method) |
Re: Factory paint removal no fogging in any of the bodies I have done, the link he posted is originally mine, there are a few pics in the thread |
Re: Factory paint removal Anybody ever tried buffing out some of the less severe scratches on a lexan body? |
Re: Factory paint removal Does any one know if the gray color of the Honcho is a screen printed bake on paint? |
Re: Factory paint removal Im not too sure what paint Axial uses or there process, all I know is it is some tough stuff, I would imagine that it is the same as the green, I have a HPI rubicon body that is even tougher paint, the nitro doesnt even work on that... and it practically works on most everything.... |
