Jeep Wrangler Questions

Hi, I'm a big Jeep fan (specifically wrangler TJ's), so im going to make my scx10 honcho into a 2 door jeep. I would prefer a TJ but I can only find the new bright ones and i cant use them because, in short, I can't have an interior and therefore need a roof too. Im thinking about the proline jeep wrangle JK 2 door but im not too impressed by the JK, so I would prefer it if I managed to do a jeep TJ body. Anybody have any suggestions?

maybe a picture of my California Gold Rush JK will help you like the JK a little more I like the 2 door myself but the 4 door is pretty nice.

Thanks for the picture (nice truck by the way), is that the proline body? If so, that would be the same scale as the 2 door right?

yes its the proline rubicon unlimited and the scale is the same you would just have to shorten the wheelbase to run the 2 door of course which is as simple as upper and lower link change for the rear axel.

Yeah, thanks i had that part covered already im just gonna get a set of dingo links and fiddle around with the little bits that come with it

ive used traxxas revo pushrods as my link bars in the past and currently and they are strong and the rod ends are stout

I was just walking down the street when I saw a Wrangler TJ parked next to a wrangler YJ and it reminded me of how similar they are apart from the grill. I've had a look and I've seen a couple of people convert the tamiya yj bodied to TJ's, could anyone give me some tips on how to make the grill, or does anyone know where I could a grill (to fit the tamiya yj)

You could always build a grille out of styrene to replace the YJ one. I am really surprised that there are no TJ lexan bodies with as popular as that Jeep is. Well, there is the HPI TJ body for the Savage, I have 2 of them but they are out of proportion. Hood is way too long for one, but they don't look bad. I used one on my first build.

I was thinking of making a styrene grill (I have a tamiya body), but I think I've thought of a better idea. Could I 3d print a body? Or even just a grill?

Really all you need is round headlights instead of square. I say drill a hole in a yj body over the square hole

if it was me id look at the new bright one again and see if you could build ur roof outta styrene. it doesnt have too many round edges except the back pillars and can cut out the rear widows and get some clear lexan and make windows and get creative. would be a fun build. now you got me thinking about doin a removable roof on my new bright jeep.
