| Can this be fixed? 1:6 Jeep
I purchased this new bright silver jeep 1:6 and during shipment it got all smashed. The body has one nasty crack on the front right fender. This is hard plastic (i think abs???). I'm a noob when it comes to working with hard plastic, never even painted a body. So new to fixing, painting, priming, sanding stuff! But I'm a fast leaner! I hope So is this repairable? I want to give the whole body a new proper paint job. Will need help with all that good stuff. But for now I need to know if this is even repairable before I consider anything else. Thanks for any advice! |

get some bondene and sand down the paint around the crack and apply some bondene. should heal it up pretty good then add some filler sand smooth and repaint. pretty easy process. |

With reg lexan bodies I use carpet tape and shoe goo/ Spray rubber Find some cheap testors body filler to fill in the cracks Then some touch up paint |

Heck yeah!!! I've actually debated trying to build an entire rig with just duct tape, zip ties, and Shoe Goo. Back on topic. As previously stated bondene(I use Tenax7) to "weld" the joint, filler to smooth it out on the outside, and I typically strengthen the joint on the back side with a strip of styrene. Ben |
