Body sizes?!?

Ok, so I recently turned 12 and only have $50 bucks left. I would save but it would take forever to get more money xD. I was lookin at some bodies on RPP hobby and found some that I was interested in. None of them, however, showed the wheelbase. My SCX10 happens to be a Honcho, so it's kinda hard to find 12.3 in bodies that should bolt directly on. Now If I bought a body that were a bit smaller, shall we say, could I just drill new body mount holes for it?
Thanks a bunch!"thumbsup"

Tower Hobbies lists all the dimensions (including wheelbase) of the bodies they sell - should help you out.

If your having a hard time finding that exact 12.3 wheel base you could get a shorter or longer wheel base body and change your suspension links to fit the wheel base. But yea most bodies don't come predrilled so you have to drill out wherever ur body posts are.

Yeah
I figured like, a 11.8 IN wheelbase body could probably fit OK on my truck. All i'd have to do is drill some body mount holes to fit it, but it might be a bit long or short. Thanks "thumbsup"

Re: Body sizes?!?

It will be short. No matter how you drill the posts it wont change the wheelbase of the body.

The Axial SCX10's wheel base can easily be adjusted to fit just about any body from 10" to 14" "thumbsup"

yea no matter how you drill your body posts it wont change the wheel base on your body. 11.8 might not be as close as you think.

Yeah, an 11.8" body will look quite weird if you don't change the wheelbase.

Bodies that will fit though from Proline are Pro-Line Jeep Comanche Body 3362 for Rock Crawling , Pro-Line Jeep Wrangler Body 3336 for Rock Crawler and Pro-Line Ford F-250 Super Duty Cab 3392 for Rock Crawler (my fav)

Hope that helps!

Re: Body sizes?!?

Proline racing lists the wheelbases of their bodies on their website. Hpi ones are a bit harder to find. Usually have to google search.

Sometimes it depends on how the fender lines are creased by the mold. What I mean is if the intended WB is smaller/bigger than your honcho, you can get away with cutting the wheel arches in the fenders a little longer or shorter and still have it look good. Some bodies have very distinct arches though so it is a bit tougher.

Any body that fits the Revo or Savage will fit your Honcho

Re: Body sizes?!?

Another idea is to leave the stock body and spend your $50 on a really nice paint job, an interior and make light buckets for the body

Thanks! I think what I'm going to do is buy an Axial 2012 Rubicon Jeep body, maybe put a Bikini top on it, and throw some accessories on it.. I think that'll look nice. Wheelbase should be the same, but if not I can probably change it a bit. I'll have a custom paint job on it too. Orange or Lime sounds nice haha.

Wow that's a late reply! Lol
